We continued the busy month of October with two events at Mediterra. The first was at the Mediterra Beach Club, a beautiful venue off of Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs about 20 minutes away from the The Club at Mediterra in Naples. The Seaside String Quartet was providing the wedding ceremony music for the wedding of Stacy and Eddie. This was a destination wedding for the couple from Ohio and the venue provided a beach environment in elegant surroundings.
Barbara of Focus Floral and Mary Ann, coordinator at Mediterra, were both putting on finishing touches to the setup when we arrived. Everything looked gorgeous and it was a beautiful day! Both ladies were very meticulous to make sure all looked perfect!
The staircase coming from the building was perfect for the dramatic entrance of the Bride. I wish I had taken a picture of it! This picture was taken from the top of the stairs looking down on the beach.
Stacy chose traditional classical music for the wedding ceremony. A lively Haydn piece was played for the Seating of the Grandmothers and Mothers.The Bridesmaids walked down the staircase and were met at the bottom by the Groomsmen to the music, Pachelbel’s Canon in D. When the 5 Bridesmaids and Groomsmen were in place, we began to play the fanfare for the Bridal Chorus, signaling the Entrance of the Bride. A family friend, Bryan, performed the ceremony. As the couple took their first kiss as husband and wife, we played the Wedding March for the exit of the wedding party. We played Mozart’s Alleluia as the guests made their way out. Then we quickly packed up our equipment and hustled to our cars to travel to the Club at Mediterra for the cocktail reception. We were able to do this before the guests boarded the buses.
Music for the cocktail reception was all popular songs. Stacey allowed her mom to make these choices. Among the selections were Bless the Broken Road, How Deep is Your Love, If You Could Read My Mind, Love Story, Sound of Music, This Guy’s in Love With You, When I’m 64, When You Say Nothing At All, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, I Say a Little Prayer, It Had to Be You, LOve Theme from the Godfather, My Girl, This Will Be ( An Everlasting Love), The Way You Look Tonight and we finished with When You Wish Upon a Star.
I am disappointed that I did not get a chance to meet Stacy. She was wonderful to work with and so organized. We wish her and Eddie all the best!
The next weekend , our string quartet once again came to The Club at Mediterrra for a cocktail reception. Kevin of Botanicals on the Gulf did an awesome job with the flowers. Lanterns provided by Niche Event Rental adorned the entry way. The elegant venue, garden theme, beautiful weather and classical music of Seaside Strings all combined to make it a perfect evening.
