Bay Colony Beach Club

It was a beautiful evening for a beach wedding in Naples! The venue on this last Saturday in September is the Bay Colony Beach Club and it is a destination wedding for our couple Ly and Evan from New Jersey.

I am joined by my colleagues Joan Stewart on violin and Diane Coffman on cello and I am the violist as the Seaside String Trio provides the wedding ceremony music. I got to meet Ly and Evan last April when they were here to finalize their wedding plans. They are a super couple and I am so glad they have the perfect weather for their event. No worries about rain tonight! There is a wonderful breeze and the beach is secluded. I am sorry I shot this picture of the beach set up before the flowers were added but everything looked beautiful. Kehrin from Jet Set Wed was on hand to coordinate. I met up with her right as I arrived and we discussed the Processional. Rabbi Diamond from Fort Myers was here to perform the ceremony.

Ly and Evan chose popular songs for us to play as their guests were arriving onto the beach. These included When I’m 64, Let It Be Me, Getting to Know You, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, All You Need is Love , Lean on Me and My Girl. When Rabbi Diamond appeared, we quickly switched to the Pachelbel Canon for the Processional. Following the Rabbi came the Groom and his Parents, the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen, the Ring Bearer and the Flower Girl. As everyone stood to welcome her, we played Come Away With Me for the Entrance of the Bride.

It was a lovely service. Ly was so happy and a handkerchief was passed to the Rabbi to wipe her happy tears. As Evan broke the traditional glass, we began to play Here Comes the Sun as the Wedding Party exited. As the guests made their way to the clubhouse for the cocktail reception ,we continued to play for the remaining people on the beach. Evan and Ly were having pictures taken so we played My Girl again which I knew was a favorite. We also tried some new songs  I thought they would enjoy such as I’ll Follow the Sun and Brown Eyed Girl.

As I was departing, Evan and Ly were finished with pictures and I got to offer my congratulations and best wishes. It was such a magical evening for them. It was a pleasure to be a part of this special day!
