Marco Beach Ocean Resort

Cristina and David began their wedding planning more than a year in advance. I had met with them in May of 2016 and this couple from New Jersey chose the Seaside String Trio to provide the music for their May 2017 destination wedding ceremony and their cocktail reception. It was a pleasure to work with Tonya Malay Photography, Isn’t She Lovely Florals, Dominick of MSE Pro DJ, Will Singleton, Officiant and Galina, coordinator at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort.

The couple chose popular music for their prelude , traditional classical music for the ceremony, and popular music for their cocktail hour. We began prelude music at 6:15 prior to the 6:45 ceremony. It was a lovely evening in Southwest Florida!

Reverend James Berger officiated the ceremony which began at 4:30.  DJ Gil Blake was there as well to provide the microphone for Dr. Berger and Bella Florals by Theresa provided the flowers.

Naples Botanical Garden

This picture does not do this wedding site justice. The wisteria was in full bloom, a beautiful pale purple, and petals were strewn all over the grass. It looked gorgeous and I have to compliment our Bride Lauren for choosing this spot at this exact time of year! The Seaside String Trio provided the wedding ceremony music for Lauren and Nick’s wedding held in the Caribbean Garden at the Naples Botanical Garden. The weather was beautiful too. It was windy but we were in a protected area so we did not have any problems.

I loved all the music the couple chose too! For prelude we played I See the Light from Tangled; Until the Last Moment by Yanni; What a Wonderful World; Viva la Vida; The Prayer; Beauty and the Beast; All I Want is You; Con te Partiro.

Amanda with Venuelux was the coordinator helping us on this first Saturday in March. When she and her assistant had everyone lined up, we began to play Love is a Many Splendored Thing for the Seating of the Family. This included Grandparents, Parents of the Groom and Mother of the Bride  For the Entrance of the Wedding Party, the music was The End of August by Yanni. The Groom entered followed by the Groomsmen, Bridesmaids, Junior Bridesmaid, 2 Ring Bearers and 2 Flower Girls.  Lauren entered, escorted by her father,  to the music Come What May from Moulin Rouge. Lauren and I had worked out the timing for this and I think it worked perfectly. The couple performed a wine ceremony during the ceremony and we played Wonderful Tonight as they mixed the red and white wine and then each drank the rose wine,  signifying their love. The Officiate, Jason, brother-in-law of the Bride, presented the newlyweds and the Wedding Party exited to Marry You by Bruno Mars.

It was such a memorable evening!  Congratulations and best wishes to Lauren and Nick!

Twin Eagles Private Home

We were fortunate to be asked to play for a benefit for the Golisano Children’s Hospital. The event was at a private home in the Twin Eagles  Community in North Naples. In fact, it was the residence of the son of Roald Dahl, writer of children’s books, most notably the book on which the “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” movie was based. Each corner of the house was decorated for Christmas. It was awesome! I learned it took them three weeks to decorate but I’m sure much longer to plan. There were so many things to see!

I was joined by my colleagues  to form the Seaside String Trio. The host and hostess could not have been nicer. We were encouraged to have a look around before guests arrived and I took a bunch of pictures.  Given the atmosphere, we performed mostly Christmas music with a few classical selections thrown in too.

We got so many wonderful comments. It was a really fun and memorable evening!

Talis Park Golf Club

We performed at Talis Park Golf Club for the very first time and were just awed by the surroundings!  It is really a gorgeous venue that we hope to return to again and again.

This view is of the Golf Club is after you cross over the bridge. The grass looks like carpet.

The ceremony took place in the courtyard. It had great acoustics!

Then through two sets of double doors is another courtyard where the cocktail reception was held. Very elegant!

The Club at Mediterra

Our weather in Naples, FL in November is usually ideal and it certainly was this Saturday evening for the wedding celebration of Jessica and David. The Seaside String Trio was chosen to perform the wedding ceremony and cocktail reception music held at this gorgeous venue, The Club at Mediterra.

The Club at Mediterra wedding

We began prelude music at 4 pm and the ceremony was scheduled for 4:30.  Music that was requested included Finale from Handel Water Music, O mio babbino caro by Puccini, Con te Partiro and Panis Angelicus.  The ceremony was slightly delayed and we filled in with additional baroque and romantic selections. Here was the program for the ceremony:

Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, Bach: Seating of Parents of Groom; Seating of Mother of the Bride

Canon in D, Pachelbel: Entrance of Officiate/ Groom; Entrance of 5 Bridesmaids/ 5 Groomsmen; Entrance of 2 Flower Girls ( together)

Air, Bach: Entrance of the Bride

Ave Maria, Schubert: music within the ceremony for “moment of remembrance”

 Trumpet Voluntary, Clarke: Recessional

 Le Rejouissance, Handel: Postlude

After the ceremony we moved under the porte-cochere for the cocktail reception. Since the ceremony ran long, cocktail hour was shortened so we did not get to pay all the selections that were requested. Pops music was on the playlist and here are the selections we performed: Ain’t That a Kick in the Head; All You Need is Love; At Last, The Best is Yet to Come, California Dreamin’, Can’t Help Falling in Love, Come Fly With Me, Fly Me to the Moon, Everybody Loves Somebody, It Had to Be You, Volare and What a Wonderful World.

As guests went inside for the dinner, many commented how much they enjoyed our music which always makes us feel grateful and appreciated!

Best wishes to Jessica and David! Thank you for having Seaside Strings a part of this special day!
