The Naples Princess

What a fantastic time we had last night!  Our wedding on this last Saturday in July was aboard the Naples Princess. I had been on the ship many times before for parties but this was my first time being aboard to perform for a wedding ceremony. Our details were arranged by Florida Talent Consultants and Emily was our venue contact. This was a destination wedding for our couple, Sharon and Rod, and the evening could not have been better for them and their guests. We were blessed with clear skies, calm waters and a beautiful sunset. Working alongside Greg Tanner, DJ  of Greg Tanner Entertainment and Peter Pecci of Pecci Photography , I am joined by my colleagues Joan Stewart on violin and Diane Coffman on cello to form the Seaside String Trio.

We all arrived at 5:45 as the guests were due to begin boarding at 6:15. The Ceremony was held upstairs and Emily could not  have been more helpful in finding a suitable place for us to set up. We began the prelude music with songs that Sharon had selected. These included Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Only Time, Have I Told You Lately, Just the Way You Are Amazing. We also added Marry Me by Train and then transitioned to lively classical pieces such as Handel’s Entrance of the Queen of Sheba and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #3. With a signal from Emily, we began Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring for the seating of the Mothers. Our beautiful Bride entered to Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary. With Captain Jim Albert officiating, the couple spoke their vows and exchanged rings. The traditional Wedding March was the Recessional music. As the guests departed from the deck, we played Ode to Joy and Le Rejouissance. As the guests greeted the happy couple on their way downstairs for dinner, we concluded and Greg took over his duties as DJ.  I was able to stop and say hello to the couple as well and offer my  thanks, congratulations and best wishes.

Emily invited us inside the pilot house to enjoy our dinner. We had a beautiful view, wonderful food and Captain Albert was a terrific host. Many thanks to the staff of the Naples Princess – you made it a special evening for us too! Everyone was just super to us. We could hear that the guests were having a wonderful time too.

As we departed the boat at 9:45, we were treated to many compliments by the guests. What a memorable evening! Thank you all so much!
