Hyatt House, Naples FL

Deborah and Jared, our couple from Connecticut, chose the Seaside Strings Violin and Viola Duo to provide the music for their destination wedding and cocktail hour at the Hyatt House in Naples, FL.  It was a small wedding held on the back dock and had a beautiful water view. It was a hot day but there was very little chance of rain. We were happy to find some shade!

We began prelude music at 3:45 and the ceremony began at 4pm. We played a mix of classical and pops music for the prelude: Rigaudon by Campra, At Last by Etta James; Telemann Vivace; Can You Feel the Love Tonight; Handel Allegro.

The ceremony began with the men entering. The Officiate was the Brother of the Groom. We played Handel Air as the Groom, Groomsmen and 2 Bridesmaids entered. Deborah chose the Elvis song, Can’t Help Falling in Love, as her entrance music. The ceremony ended with the introduction of the newlyweds and we played All You Need is Love as the Recessional.

We moved just down the dock for the cocktail hour. It was all pops music on our playlist. The couple made a few requests and then let me choose the rest:  All I Ask of You; Cheek to Cheek; Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars; Michelle; It had to Be You; Moon River; Scarborough Fair; So This s Love; Think of Me; Unchained Melody; When I’m 64; All of Me by John Legend; Besame Mucho; Stand By Me; Somewhere in Time; Here Comes the Sun; Kiss the Girl; The Very Thought of You; What a Wonderful World; Wonderful Tonight; The Prayer; Have I Told You Lately; Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

I am so glad we got to meet the couple before they left for their dinner. Congratulations and best wishes, Deborah and Jared!

Here are 2 videos we recorded.

Sundial Beach Resort

Susan and Neal chose the Sundial Beach Resort for their September wedding. I was very curious about the conditions on Sanibel Island due to the red tide we have been experiencing in southwest Florida this summer. Since I live in Naples, I had not been to Sanibel in several months. The couple chose the Seaside Strings Violin Duo so I was here with my colleague, Brandis,  to play for the wedding ceremony of this couple from Pennsylvania.

It was a beautiful day! Very low chance of rain, just enough clouds to keep it from being oppressive and a wonderful breeze. No fishy smell, the water looked gorgeous and best of all- no bugs!

The beach wedding was set for 5:30 pm so we began prelude music at 5:00. Susan requested a mix of classical and pops music and allowed me to choose the playlist.  Here are the selections: Rigaudon by Campra; All I Ask of You from Phantom; Vivace by Telemann; Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton; Allegro by Handel; A Thousand Years by Christina Perri; Allegro by Loeillet.

The Officiate, Groom, Best Man and Maid of Honor entered to Rondeau by Mouret. Susan chose the Bridal Chorus by Wagner as her entrance music.

Peggy Lewis of Florida Ceremonies wrote a special ceremony for the couple. Before the rings and the vows, we played a musical interlude: Flower Duet by Delibes.

With the words,” Let the Celebration begin!”  we played Trumpet Tune for the Recessional music. As pictures were being taken, we also played, Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars and Le Rejouissance by Handel. We were honored to be a part of this special day! Congratulations and best wishes to Susan and Neal!

Since it was such a romantic setting, we also made of video of this song, Somewhere in Time. Hope you enjoy this excerpt!

Sundial Resort

November is such a wonderful month in Southwest Florida and so it is a busy month for weddings. On November 10th, the Seaside Strings Violin Duo arrived at the Sundial Resort on Sanibel Island for the afternoon wedding of Megan and Sean. Amanda Wichmanowski  of Amanda Caroline Weddings and Events was the wedding coordinator and Sue Totterdale officiated the ceremony.  Sundial 006

The ceremony was held on the lawn. This is a great spot because it offers privacy and a beautiful view of the water.

We performed a mix of music for the prelude including Megan’s main requests Debussy’s Clair de Lune and Marry Me by Train.

Here is a video of the prelude songs, Can’t Help Falling in Love played by the duo.

When Amanda gave us the signal  that they were ready to begin, we began to play the Bach Air for the Seating of the Family and the Entrance of the Wedding Party.  Megan entered to the Canon in D by Pachelbel.

When the ceremony concluded, we played Here Comes the Sun as the Recessional.

Here is another video, this one is The Way You Look Tonight, which was one of the postlude songs.

And here is an excerpt of Stand By Me, one of the postlude songs Megan requested.

We enjoyed being a part of this special day! Congratulations Megan and Sean!
