Hyatt House, Naples FL

Deborah and Jared, our couple from Connecticut, chose the Seaside Strings Violin and Viola Duo to provide the music for their destination wedding and cocktail hour at the Hyatt House in Naples, FL.  It was a small wedding held on the back dock and had a beautiful water view. It was a hot day but there was very little chance of rain. We were happy to find some shade!

We began prelude music at 3:45 and the ceremony began at 4pm. We played a mix of classical and pops music for the prelude: Rigaudon by Campra, At Last by Etta James; Telemann Vivace; Can You Feel the Love Tonight; Handel Allegro.

The ceremony began with the men entering. The Officiate was the Brother of the Groom. We played Handel Air as the Groom, Groomsmen and 2 Bridesmaids entered. Deborah chose the Elvis song, Can’t Help Falling in Love, as her entrance music. The ceremony ended with the introduction of the newlyweds and we played All You Need is Love as the Recessional.

We moved just down the dock for the cocktail hour. It was all pops music on our playlist. The couple made a few requests and then let me choose the rest:  All I Ask of You; Cheek to Cheek; Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars; Michelle; It had to Be You; Moon River; Scarborough Fair; So This s Love; Think of Me; Unchained Melody; When I’m 64; All of Me by John Legend; Besame Mucho; Stand By Me; Somewhere in Time; Here Comes the Sun; Kiss the Girl; The Very Thought of You; What a Wonderful World; Wonderful Tonight; The Prayer; Have I Told You Lately; Perfect by Ed Sheeran.

Sundial Beach Resort

Susan and Neal chose the Sundial Beach Resort for their September wedding. I was very curious about the conditions on Sanibel Island due to the red tide we have been experiencing in southwest Florida this summer. Since I live in Naples, I had not been to Sanibel in several months. The couple chose the Seaside Strings Violin Duo so I was here with my colleague, Brandis,  to play for the wedding ceremony of this couple from Pennsylvania.

It was a beautiful day! Very low chance of rain, just enough clouds to keep it from being oppressive and a wonderful breeze. No fishy smell, the water looked gorgeous and best of all- no bugs!

The beach wedding was set for 5:30 pm so we began prelude music at 5:00. Susan requested a mix of classical and pops music and allowed me to choose the playlist.  Here are the selections: Rigaudon by Campra; All I Ask of You from Phantom; Vivace by Telemann; Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton; Allegro by Handel; A Thousand Years by Christina Perri; Allegro by Loeillet.

The Officiate, Groom, Best Man and Maid of Honor entered to Rondeau by Mouret. Susan chose the Bridal Chorus by Wagner as her entrance music.

Peggy Lewis of Florida Ceremonies wrote a special ceremony for the couple. Before the rings and the vows, we played a musical interlude: Flower Duet by Delibes.

With the words,” Let the Celebration begin!”  we played Trumpet Tune for the Recessional music. As pictures were being taken, we also played, Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars and Le Rejouissance by Handel. We were honored to be a part of this special day! Congratulations and best wishes to Susan and Neal!

Since it was such a romantic setting, we also made of video of this song, Somewhere in Time. Hope you enjoy this excerpt!

The Club at the Strand

The Strand was one of the first venues I ever played after starting my business in Naples FL so it has always been a favorite of mine. The garden behind the clubhouse is such a beautiful site for a wedding!

The flowers were gorgeous and it was such a brilliant touch to add rose petals in the fountain. I loved the arrangements and they added small pots on the staircase also.

On this April afternoon we traveled  to The Club at the Strand for the wedding celebration of Brianna and Joe. The Seaside String Trio provided the live music for their wedding ceremony. It was a gorgeous day!We began playing prelude music at 5pm for the 5:30 ceremony. The couple chose all the music: At Last by Etta James; My Girl by the Temptations; Forest Gump Feather Theme; You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker; Marry Me by Train; It Had to Be You; Frank Sinatra; Oh, Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison; Over the Rainbow from Wizard of Oz.

The Officiate, Pastor Tom Hodge began the Processional as we played The Prayer. The Grandparents were seated, then the Parents of the Groom followed by the Mother of the Bride. For the Entrance of the Wedding Party,  we played Canon in D by Pachelbel. The Bride entered to the music How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding.  Within the ceremony, as the newlyweds lit the Unity Candle we played I Love You Lord.  The ceremony ended with the Presentation of the Couple and we played All You Need is Love as the Wedding Party exited and the guests began to move on to the cocktail hour.

Thank you so much , Brianna and Joe! We loved being a part of your special day!

Naples Botanical Garden

Hannah and Jacob started planning their wedding more than a year in advance. They picked a lovely venue for their February wedding and chose the Seaside String Trio to provide live music for their wedding ceremony and cocktail hour.

We had played previously at the Naples Botanical Garden in the Asian Garden, the Caribbean Garden and the Main Lawn so I was excited about seeing the Florida Garden. It was a gorgeous area surrounded by water features and offered tiki huts to provide shade. It was a beautiful day, although a bit breezy, not uncommon for mid February. Here is a picture by Luminaire Foto of the ceremony site.

The Groomsmen, Best Man and the Groom and his Parents entered to Air by Bach; The Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor entered to the music Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach and the Bride entered to the Canon in D by Pachelbel. Here is a picture I took of the cocktail hour area. It was just behind us.

Since it was pretty windy,  we moved a bit closer to the guests for the reception time. It was not a full hour of music so we were not able to play all of the couple’s requests. We did perform these songs: A Thousand Years, Christina Perri; Love Story, Taylor Swift; Mine, Taylor Swift; My Heart Will Go On, Celine Dion; Just the Way You Are, Bruno Mars; Everything, Michael Buble; Free, Zac Brown Band; All You Need is Love, Beatles and All of Me by John Legend.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort

Our wedding on this last Sunday in January brought us to the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort for the wedding of Christie and Mike . The Seaside String Trio provided the wedding ceremony music and cocktail hour for this local couple. The original plan was to have the ceremony in the Royal Palm Courtyard followed by the cocktail hour in the firepit area but weather forced a change in plans. The Belvedere Terrace became the ceremony site and then we moved inside in the bar area for the cocktail reception. Now this is some Plan B! Set up was done by Libby’s Flowers. Dr. Dan Lamey served as Officiate.

It was a cloudy day with a small chance of rain but the couple had already planned to have their ceremony inside. The Island Ballroom look gorgeous. During the ceremony, we played The Prayer for the Sand Ceremony. The Recessional was the traditional Wedding March. We played All You Need is Love by the Beatles as the guests moved to the cocktail hour down the hall in front of the Everglades Ballroom. They had tables set up both inside and on the outside patio for the guests. We stayed indoors and loved the great acoustics.

Naples Botanical Garden

The Naples Botanical Garden offers so many lovely areas  to choose from to have your wedding ceremony. Betsy and Brent chose the Main Lawn which offered a beautiful water garden view.  It  still all looked very lush to me.Whatever damage Irma left behind was not too apparent. The Seaside String Quartet was here on this beautiful January evening to provide the wedding ceremony and cocktail reception music. We had cool weather lately but the temperature was just perfect for this event.  We were joined by these wedding professionals: Kathie and Jacqui of Side By Side Weddings; Barbara of Focus Floral; Karl from Luminaire Foto and Dr. Dan Lamey, Officiate.
