Naples Bay Resort

The first thing that caught my eye when I arrived at the Naples Bay Resort were the flowers hanging on the back of our chairs. Just gorgeous!

They had recently renovated the pool area/ wedding ceremony area here. The ceremony site was larger and they had taken out a huge palm that used to be in our way. It is a beautiful  intimate waterside venue.

I was here with colleague, Diane, for the wedding of Samantha and James. The Seaside Strings Violin and Cello Duo provided the ceremony and cocktail reception music.  The weather was beautiful; it feels like fall now with just a bit lower humidity. But, just as we began to play, a small passing shower forced us to move under cover. With help from some thoughtful guests, we were able to move quickly to protect our instruments. After about 10 minutes, it was clear to move back again. All classical music was on our playlist for the prelude; Canon in D, Pachelbel; Allegro by Handel; Anniversary Waltz; Cello Suite #1 by Bach; Brandenburg Concerto #3; Vienna Woods Waltz by Strauss and You and You Waltz by Strauss.

The ceremony began with the Entrance of Reverend James Berger, the Officiate; the Groom escorted his Parents and the Mother of the Bride was seated as we played Handel, Air. For the Entrance of the 4 Groomsmen and 4 Bridesmaids, we played Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach. The Bride, Samantha, made her entrance to the Entrance of the Queen of Sheba by Handel. For the Unity Candle Ceremony, Wachet Auf by Bach was chosen. Le Rejouissance  by Handel was the Recessional music. As guests congratulated the couple, we played Trumpet Tune by Purcell and Hornpipe by Handel.

We moved inside for cocktail hour. The doors were open so guests who chose to stay outside could hear us too. All popular music was chosen for the reception. On our playlist was All You Need is Love by The Beatles; At Last, Etta James; Brown Eyes Girl, Van Morrison; Edelweiss from Sound of Music; Fly Me to the Moon, Frank Sinatra; Getting to Know You from The King and I; Here Comes the Sun, the Beatles; It Had to Be You, Frank Sinatra; Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid; My Girl, Smokey Robinson; November Rain, Guns N Roses; Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific; Somewhere My Love from Dr. Zhivago; Sunrise Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof; What a Wonderful World, Louis Armstrong; When I’m 64, Beatles; Wouldn’t It Be Nice, Beach Boys; and You Are the Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder.

Thank you Samantha and James for having us share this special day with you!
