I know I am biased in this but a garden venue and string music just fits together! Many thanks to Suzie Freeman of Special Florida Weddings for recommending us to Emily and Tyler! What a beautiful venue! Today’s Ceremony took place on a huge lawn area in the Caribbean Garden. I am joined by colleagues Joan Stewart and Susan Sikuta, violinists and Diane Coffman, cellist who along with me on viola make up the Seaside String Quartet.
It is a very warm day so we found a bit a shade off to the side under the coral stone pergola. The nice breeze and passing clouds offered some relief from the heat. Most of the guests sought shelter in the Chattel House when they arrived and listened to our prelude music from there. This was a destination wedding as our couple was from New York and they had over 100 guests attending to share in this very special occasion.
Here to help was Mindy Ramsay of White Orchid Floral Design Studio. After consulting with her to check our coordination, we began the prelude music. On the program was music from Handel’s Water Music, Bach Brandenburg Concerto#3, Corelli Corrente, Elgar’s Salut d’amour, and Mozart Quartet in C. A special request from Emily was to perform the Por Una Cabeza Tango for her paternal grandmother who is from Argentina .
Upon the go ahead sign from Mindy, we began to play the Pachelbel Canon in D for the seating of the Mother and the entrance of the Bridesmaids escorted by the Groomsmen. The ring bearer and flower girl entered together. Once all were in place, we began the fanfare to start the Bridal Chorus that announced Emily’s entrance. She met her father, who was in a wheelchair, part way and he escorted her to stand with Tyler.
It was a fairly short (as requested by the couple) but memorable ceremony. As Suzi introduced the newly married couple to the cheers of the crowd, we began to play the Wedding March as the Emily and Tyler exited the lawn. After the Wedding Party had exited, we concluded the music with Mozart’s Alleluia.
Congratulations and best wishes to Emily and Tyler. We wish you a wonderful life together!
