Wedding at the Ritz- Carlton Naples

A lot of our destination weddings are small intimate affairs just as our wedding Friday at the Ritz Carlton Naples. I was joined by my colleague, Diane Coffman, on cello. Our couple, Allison and Charlie, were from Georgia, a place close to my heart as I had lived there for almost 25 years. Allison and I found we also had another connection as one of her friends was in my high school orchestra class back in the days when I was teaching public schools.

It was another beautiful evening in paradise. A front had moved through and although still a bit humid, there was no threat of rain. As we were setting up, the ladies from the Ritz brought the beautiful flowers. You could smell the scent of lilies in the air. Scott Crowley was our planner today and made sure we had everything we needed.

The guests arrived just before 6 as we were playing the music Allison picked out. She loved the old standards such as Cheek to Cheek and Fly Me to the Moon. But it was the traditional Bridal Chorus and Wedding March she chose for the Ceremony. She and Charlie walked out together which worked beautifully. Dr. Kenneth Claus officiated.

After the Ceremony, it was more Frank Sinatra songs such as Bewitched, Young at Heart,  I’ve Got You Under My Skin and a special request for Cole Porter’s “You’re the Top”. As the sun was setting, the guests had gone back to the hotel, Allison and Charlie held hands watching the sunset as we played Sunrise, Sunset.

It was great to see Krista from Impressions Photography. A big thank you to her for taking this picture of us. All our best to Allison and Charlie!
