Edison- Ford Estate

On this Saturday in late June our wedding had a personal connection. Our cellist, Diane, was very good friends with the parents of the groom. Our couple, Stephanie and Billy, were from Kentucky so it was a destination wedding for them. They chose the Edison-Ford Estate in Fort Myers, FL  for their ceremony venue and the Seaside String Quartet   to provide the wedding ceremony music. The reception was at the Sydney Berne Davis Art Center and this was also our backup in case of rain.

We did not need to be concerned about the weather. It was a beautiful evening. We set ourselves up in the shade so all was perfect. Stephanie Meiser of Along Came Stephanie  had the ceremony site looking beautiful and fitting the couple’s vintage theme. Signature Florals made the beautiful arrangements that lined the aisle. It all looked very romantic. Jamie Lee Photography was on hand to take pictures and Waddy Padilla was the videographer.

The ceremony was set for 5:30 in the Royal Palm Alley. We began prelude music at 5:00 when the guests began to arrive. The couple chose popular music for their selections: The Way You Look Tonight, Beauty and the Beast, I’m Yours, At Last, Dancing Cheek to Cheek , and Someone to Watch Over Me. We debuted a new song for us: I See the Light from Disney’s Tangled. We added a couple of additional songs: Come Fly With Me, Seasons of Love and When I’m 64 as we waited for the ready signal.

When we got the signal from Stephanie Meiser,  we began to play The Prayer for the Seating of the Grandparents and the Mothers. The Officiant ( the Groom’s Uncle) Groom and Groomsmen also walked out to this music and took their places. As the 4  Bridesmaids walked down the aisle, we played All I Ask of You. The music for our bride was the Pachelbel Canon in D. The ceremony was short so quickly it was time to play the recessional music, A Whole New World. An vintage car came around the Estate and the couple drove off. It was perfect ending !

As the guests mingled a bit before making their way to the reception, we played Music of the Night from Phantom. All our best  to Stephanie and Billy!
